On December 2017 massive passwords database was published. There is total of 1.4 billion of emails with passwords. Part of services where passwords was stolen is huge: Last.FM, Bitcoin, Pastebin, LinkedIn, MySpace, Netflix, YouPorn, Zoosk, Badoo, RedBox, games like Minecraft and Runescape, Anti Public, Exploit.in ….

We have purchased that list of all passwords and filtered our users. We force every affected user to change it passwords. It’s only matter of time when somebody else will start using your email account if password will not be changed.

How to protect yourself in the future:

1. Don’t use the same password for different services.
2. Use password manager software to remember all passwords and make it secure.
3. Always use two pass authorizations on every place where it exists
4. Don’t use easy guessing passwords

Using a mobile phone is one of the easiest and fastest way to recover your password. All You need is access to a phone number that has been entered and verified in the inbox.lv user’s profile.

To activate this function, You must perform the following steps:

• Go to the section “Password Recovery” in the mail settings,
• Add the phone number in the “mobile phone” field. Save changes,
• Read SMS message from Inbox.lv, which comes to the mobile phone,
• Verify your mobile phone number, using the confirmation code from the SMS message,
• Save changes.

If everything was done correctly, after You’ve received message about successful verification this mobile phone number can be used for password recovery.

Remember, password loss is no reason to worry. There are several simple ways to restore the password to the inbox.lv account, if the user’s profile contains the necessary information.

Inbox.lv recommends not to postpone profile data entry and spend just a couple of minutes of your time to confirm your mobile phone number and data for alternative mail in profile settings.

• Go to the mail settings and open “password recovery” section
• Specify in the “e-mail” field any other active mailbox. Save your changes!
• Go to the specified mailbox
• Open letter from Inbox.lv with the subject ” E-mail address verification”
• Follow the link in the e-mail

If everything was done correctly, you will see a successful confirmation message, after which this mailbox can be used for password recovery. Read more

Upon success, the e-mail address will be linked to the inbox.lv password recovery service. You can use any available e-mail address for verification. In any case, the password can be restored via answer to the secret question or referring directly to the technical customer support Inbox.lv.
