Photo: Inbox.lv

Inbox.lv has made changes to the design of the Inbox.lv homepage. However, these aren’t just visual changes – this is a carefully considered evolution to make the homepage simpler, calmer, and easier to use, both for today’s users and for future needs.
Inbox.lv announced the homepage design changes a month in advance, aware that some users might react strongly to any changes, or worry that they’d landed on the wrong page.

A calmer, more focused design

“Over the years, the previous version had become colorful and visually saturated. It contained a lot of information, a lot of highlighted elements, and more components competing for the user’s attention at the same time. That’s why in the new version we deliberately chose a cleaner, brighter, and calmer approach, so that the most important things would stand out faster and the page would be easier to read day to day,” explains Jevgenijs Kuzņecovs, co-owner and board member of Inbox.lv responsible for technology and product development.

“We reduced visual noise, organized the information hierarchy, and created more open space between elements. This helps the eyes tire less and allows the user to more quickly understand where the main actions are – login, registration, email, files, news, and other services,” Jevgenijs Kuzņecovs clarifies.

Room to grow

The new design already has space reserved for practical everyday widgets, such as weather and name days. In the future, this area can be expanded with other useful elements, making the homepage not only more convenient but also more personal and informative.

“Inbox.lv is no longer just email. Users actively use news, file storage, photo and video albums, games, contacts, and calendar. The portal’s previous design could no longer display these services conveniently and clearly,” explains Jevgenijs Kuzņecovs on the need for change.

A nod to history: the little egg

“In updating the homepage design, we also wanted to preserve a connection to Inbox.lv’s history. During the process, our colleagues rediscovered a very old symbol of ours – the little egg, which was part of Inbox.lv’s image almost 20 years ago. Many had already forgotten about it, which is exactly why it seemed interesting to bring it back in a new, modern form. It’s a small but heartfelt reminder of Inbox.lv’s beginnings and the brand’s development over the years. Historically, the egg symbolized a new user – a starting point for growth and opportunity. In the new interpretation, it has gained additional meaning: when you click on the egg, it cracks, symbolizing the transition to the next stage of development. In this way, the egg becomes a metaphor for the user’s growth and the opportunity to discover a fuller Inbox.lv experience by choosing the Premium version, with additional features and an ad-free environment,” adds Jevgenijs Kuzņecovs.

Need help finding something?

If there’s still something you can’t find, you can reach out to Inbox.lv support, which you can contact by email at support@inbox.lv, by calling the toll-free number 82000, or by sending a question via the feedback form. Answers to many common questions can be found at help.inbox.lv.

Passwords come with familiar problems: they get forgotten, reused across services, and exposed in data breaches. That is why the Inbox.eu Business admin panel now offers one-time code login — a passwordless way to sign in. What passwordless login is, which types of one-time codes exist, and what this approach changes in practice – read on below.

What is passwordless login?

Passwordless login means confirming your identity without typing a static password. Instead of something you have to remember, you use something you receive at the moment of signing in – for example a one-time passcode (OTP): a short code that works once and expires within minutes.

The main types of one-time passcodes

One-time codes come in several forms, and you have likely met most of them:

Email OTP – the code is sent to your email address. This is the method the Business admin panel uses.

SMS OTP – the code arrives by text message. Convenient, but generally considered the weakest option, as phone numbers can be hijacked through SIM swapping.

Authenticator apps (TOTP) – an app such as Google Authenticator generates time-based codes on your device, even offline.

Magic links – instead of a code, you receive a sign-in link and click it.

Hardware tokens – a physical device generates or holds the code; common in high-security environments.

Each balances convenience and security differently. For an admin panel that manages email, an email OTP is a natural fit: the inbox you already control becomes the key.

How it works in the Business admin panel

When you open the Inbox.eu Business Admin panel sign-in page, you can:

Continue with GitHub, Google, or Facebook – sign in through an account you already have.

Continue with email – enter your address, and we will send a six-digit, single-use code to your inbox.

New users are then guided to setup to add a domain and create mailboxes; returning users land directly in the admin panel.

What this approach changes in practice

There is no stored password to steal. Credential theft relies on passwords that can be leaked, guessed, or reused across services. A one-time code removes that target: leaked password databases contain nothing that opens your admin panel.

A code has a short life. A stolen password can be used indefinitely; an intercepted code expires within minutes and works only once.

No reset flows. Forgotten passwords and reset emails disappear from your routine — every sign-in works the same way.

Signing in from a new device is straightforward. There is nothing to retrieve from a password manager or type from memory; you only need access to your inbox.

One honest note: because your inbox becomes the key, the security of that email account matters more than ever. Enabling two-factor authentication on it is a good habit regardless of how you log in.

Setting up SSO for your team

One-time code login covers your access to the admin panel itself. If you manage mailboxes for a team, the admin panel also lets you configure Single Sign-On (SSO) via SAML or LDAP, so your mailbox users sign in through your organisation’s identity provider, for example – Keycloak or other similar solution by your Organisation’s IT departments choice. In short: code login is for the administrator, SSO is for your users.

The classic way remains available

Not everyone wants to change how they log in, and the choice stays with you. Your password is not going anywhere: select “Use legacy password instead” on the sign-in screen and continue exactly as before. One-time code login is an additional option, not a replacement.

Try it yourself

One-time code login is available now for Business admin accounts. The next time you sign in, try it – no password required. Manage your business email from one dashboard →

If you have questions about signing in or the admin panel, contact our support team.

The modern pace of life often forces us to work during unconventional hours: late at night, early in the morning, on vacation, or even on weekends. To avoid awkward situations where your email reaches the recipient at an inconvenient time and raises unnecessary questions, Inbox.lv offers a great solution — the scheduled email sending feature. This option allows you to choose the most convenient time for your message to be delivered to the recipient.

________________________________________

How Does Scheduled Email Sending Work?

The scheduled email sending feature is integrated directly into your email interface.
1. Write your email.
As usual, create your message, add recipients, and compose the text.
2. Set the sending time.
When the email is ready, instead of clicking the “Send” button, click the arrow next to it. You’ll see a menu to select the sending time. Choose one of the suggested times or set a specific date and time.
3. Check the settings.
After selecting the time, your email will display information about the scheduled date and time for sending. Make sure everything is correct, and then click the “Schedule” button.
________________________________________

What Happens to the Email After Scheduling?

1. “Scheduled” Folder.
The scheduled email will move to this folder, where it will remain until the set sending time.
2. Automatic Sending.
At the specified time, your email will be sent automatically to the recipient without any further action from you.
________________________________________

Can You Edit the Email After Scheduling?

Yes, as long as the email is in the “Scheduled” folder, you can:
• Edit the email text.
• Add new attachments or recipients.
• Delete the email.
• Cancel the scheduled sending and send the email immediately.
________________________________________

Where Can You Find the Email After Sending?

If you have enabled the option to save sent emails, you’ll find it in the “Sent” folder.
________________________________________

Why Use Scheduled Email Sending?

• Save time. Respond to emails at your convenience and prepare them for sending without worrying about timing later.
• Working after hours? Your emails will arrive in the morning instead of late at night, ensuring they don’t disrupt the recipient.
• Enjoying the weekend? Schedule your emails to be sent at the start of the workweek.

Work efficiently at any time with the scheduled email sending feature! Already available in your Inbox.lv email!
