Inbox.lv has made changes to the design of the Inbox.lv homepage. However, these aren’t just visual changes – this is a carefully considered evolution to make the homepage simpler, calmer, and easier to use, both for today’s users and for future needs.
Inbox.lv announced the homepage design changes a month in advance, aware that some users might react strongly to any changes, or worry that they’d landed on the wrong page.

A calmer, more focused design

“Over the years, the previous version had become colorful and visually saturated. It contained a lot of information, a lot of highlighted elements, and more components competing for the user’s attention at the same time. That’s why in the new version we deliberately chose a cleaner, brighter, and calmer approach, so that the most important things would stand out faster and the page would be easier to read day to day,” explains Jevgenijs Kuzņecovs, co-owner and board member of Inbox.lv responsible for technology and product development.

“We reduced visual noise, organized the information hierarchy, and created more open space between elements. This helps the eyes tire less and allows the user to more quickly understand where the main actions are – login, registration, email, files, news, and other services,” Jevgenijs Kuzņecovs clarifies.

Room to grow

The new design already has space reserved for practical everyday widgets, such as weather and name days. In the future, this area can be expanded with other useful elements, making the homepage not only more convenient but also more personal and informative.

“Inbox.lv is no longer just email. Users actively use news, file storage, photo and video albums, games, contacts, and calendar. The portal’s previous design could no longer display these services conveniently and clearly,” explains Jevgenijs Kuzņecovs on the need for change.

A nod to history: the little egg

“In updating the homepage design, we also wanted to preserve a connection to Inbox.lv’s history. During the process, our colleagues rediscovered a very old symbol of ours – the little egg, which was part of Inbox.lv’s image almost 20 years ago. Many had already forgotten about it, which is exactly why it seemed interesting to bring it back in a new, modern form. It’s a small but heartfelt reminder of Inbox.lv’s beginnings and the brand’s development over the years. Historically, the egg symbolized a new user – a starting point for growth and opportunity. In the new interpretation, it has gained additional meaning: when you click on the egg, it cracks, symbolizing the transition to the next stage of development. In this way, the egg becomes a metaphor for the user’s growth and the opportunity to discover a fuller Inbox.lv experience by choosing the Premium version, with additional features and an ad-free environment,” adds Jevgenijs Kuzņecovs.

Need help finding something?
