Not only has the dark season arrived, but also the heating season – a period when certain utility costs increase, which is why the budget has to be managed more carefully. That is exactly why we decided to ask the people of Latvia what they would do if they had to start saving. As it turned out, the internet is the last thing they would want to give up in order to save money.
While only one in 50 “Inbox Polls” respondents said they could stop subscribing to the internet to reduce their everyday expenses, a much larger share, namely every tenth respondent, said they would rather cut spending on entertainment outside the home or cancel their pay TV channel subscriptions.
“The internet has become an integral part of our daily lives – both because of digital devices, the number of which is constantly growing, and because we can often save a lot more by buying products or using various services online,” explains Poļina Nazarova, Marketing Manager at SIA “Inbokss”.
Furthermore, 41% of “Inbox Polls” respondents say that they definitely could not do without the internet in their daily lives, while another 26% could not do without mobile phone services – the ability to make calls and send text messages.
About the survey: In a survey carried out by SIA “Inbox” using the virtual tool Inbox Polls, more than 1,100 internet users were surveyed in October 2013.
